The Trust
The Glyn Valley Tramway Trust is a registered charity founded to restore the Glyn Valley Tramway to working order. We feel it’s important to preserve and restore this part of the region’s heritage for future generations to enjoy. We’ve seen the success that other heritage railways in Wales and around the UK have had, and we wish to follow in their footsteps and restore an institution that once defined Chirk and the Ceiriog Valley beyond.
Our team is made up of people from all walks of life, backgrounds, and skillsets, from engineers to film producers to people who work on the National Railway Network. Everyone brings their own knowledge and abilities to the project and this is key to how the trust operates.
As the project grows in size, we hope that our band of volunteers grows to match it. Running a railway takes a lot of people power, and we’re going to need as much help as we can get! If joining us sounds like something for you, you can get in touch on our Contact Us Page.
